Here in the Barracks, we never know who will grace us with a visit. Today Patrick Kelly visited. His father was detained here after the rising in 1916, and we use his witness statement as part of our exhibition.

Patrick Jnr dropped in with many pieces of history to show us. They included an original copy of the meeting of the first Dáil and its members, a picture of his father, a letter from Liam Mellows sent from Mountjoy Jail,  and his father’s handwritten memoirs and account of 1916!
