Our ‘Digital Quilt’ – two touch screens to compliment our 77 Women Commemorative Quilt – was launched on Culture Night Friday 22nd September 2017 at Richmond Barracks.

We were joined by many of the women who designed the original Quilt panels and some spoke about their engagement with the project and what it meant to them.  Twelve of the touch screen panels include voice recordings, one of which is a poem by Samantha McCaffrey about Priscilla Quigley.  Samantha treated us to a reading of her poem and described how she envisaged Priscilla at the ‘Queen of the Tenters’.  Also we had some music with a fine rendition of The Soldiers of Cumann na mBan sung by Bernie Tynan and accompanied by Tony Casey.

We are very grateful to the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht for their funding of the Digital Quilt project and to DMW Creative Ltd for their design.
