A Festival of History Event at Richmond Barracks

Saturday 26th September | 2.30pm to 4.30pm

Come and meet Dublin’s first ever Historian In Residence for Children, Dervilia Roche.

Dervilia will be working with children to bring their history to life, help them uncover their own local and social history, further their curiosity and explorations about history and nurture a connection to the history of Dublin.

Aimed at 9 -12 year olds, we are looking for young local collaborators to work together with the Historian-in-Residence for Children to create a year long programme of exciting workshops, projects and activities that can be shared with others.

So if you’re aged between 9-12 years and have an interest in history or just want to learn more, we invite you to come along to Richmond Barracks to meet Dervilia and tell us your favourite story from history. Who is your favourite person in history? From ancient lands and time to the modern history of your family and neighbours, we want to hear the histories that excite you!

This is a free drop in event, no booking is necessary. We look forward to seeing you there.

The Historian-in-Residence for Children is a partnership between Dublin City Council Culture Company and Dublin City Libraries.
