Exploring Storytelling

We've been telling stories in Ireland for as long as we can remember - from folk tales and yarns to the happenings of our lives and more.

In this storytelling workshop you will explore how to draw on experiences from your own life and shape them into stories to tell to other people. Using techniques like improvisation and story plans, this workshop will help you to find magical and interesting moments from your life.

Every ordinary day can yield a story and this workshop will also touch on the various storytelling styles and traditions in Ireland and beyond. No experience is needed, just a willingness to take part and give it a go.

This workshop is facilitated by Órla McGovern. Órla is a storyteller, writer and performer based in Galway. She has told stories all around the world and at every type of venue.
