Richmond Barracks to Kilmainham Walking Tour

The walk from Richmond Barracks to Kilmainham is steeped in Dublin’s rich historical, political and cultural landscape. Starting in Richmond Barracks, where the signatories of the Proclamation were held and court-martialled before being taken to Kilmainham Gaol.
On your journey you will discover the local stories and the hidden histories and walk in the footsteps of those 1916 Rising Rebels that were marched from Richmond Barracks to their execution. Led by professional tour guides, you will enjoy intriguing architecture, local & cultural landmarks, poetry by Francis Ledwidge and Michael Hartnett and historical tales that stretch from Robert Emmet, to the Great War, from the 1916 Rising to the Spanish Civil War and each stop with its own fascinating tale.

The Walking Tour is an outdoor experience so please dress for all weathers and wear comfortable shoes. Whilst walking tours are a safe and enjoyable experience, in order to ensure social distancing, our group size is limited.
The meeting point is the reception of Richmond Barracks.
Please note: This tour does not include a visit to Kilmainham Gaol or the Royal Hospital Kilmainham (Irish Museum of Modern Art).
