We have a variety of workshops, tours and talks coming up in May. Whether you'd like to do a gardening and biodiversity workshop, are curious about the area's rich history, love making art, or want to try a new hobby, we've got something for you.
You can see all of the activities on our What’s On page.
Some of our upcoming workshops include:
Details about our popular summer camps for Children and Young People are on our website. We also have creative workshops happening on Tuesday evenings for young people with artist and illustrator Kate Escolin - a Zines and comic workshop for ages 12 to 15 years, and Sketchbook Club where young people aged 15 to 23 can come along and take part in a fun, monthly art club.
Our garden is blooming at the moment with beautiful flowers and plants. It’s a lovely time to get involved in some of our garden workshops. You can see activities happening in and around our garden, including gardening and biodiversity workshops on our What's On page. There are activities for all ages to enjoy.
You can also see our upcoming Guided Walking Tours here including The Execution of the 1916 Leaders and our Biodiversity Walking Tour where you can join our Eco-Gardener in Residence Polly Rowley-Sams to discover the ecology of the local area and the surprising flora and fauna found within it.
Our Talk at The Mess for May is Dublin in the Irish Revolution 1912 to 1923. You can see all of our upcoming Talks at The Mess here.
As some of our programmes are very popular, we recommend that you book in advance either online, by calling us at 01 524 2532, or by emailing us at info@richmondbarracks.ie. Our team is here to answer any questions you may have.
Our doors are open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday. Visit for a workshop, to borrow from Inchicore Library or to enjoy our garden. Our building is family-friendly, buggy and dog-friendly, and we are always working to improve our accessibility and environmental sustainability.
