Join Dublin’s Historian-in-Residence for Children Dervilia Roche and tour guide Justine Murphy in this free, interactive Zoom workshop for children, celebrating the summer solstice.

Learn about the objects and places connected with this special time of year, discover the folklore and traditions of midsummer in Ireland, and create your very own Bronze Age sun disc to help you mark the summer solstice at home this year.

Please note, to take part in the craft element, children will need cardboard, scissors, tin foil, wool/string/pipe cleaners, glue, tape, and colouring markers.

This is a free online history workshop for children aged 9-12 years old. Booking is essential.

If you have any questions or are curious to know more, please get in touch with us via cultureconnects@dublincitycouncilculturecompany.ie or on 01 524 0391.
