There are a majority of female led businesses and vendors selling their products, crafts and designs at the Fair. Visitors can choose from a wide array of gift ideas, including: trees, plants and gardening kits, fresh flowers, natural skincare and cosmetics, handmade bathing and shaving products, first period kits and sustainable hygiene items , handmade textiles eco printed with real leaves and dyed with plant-based dyes; handmade jewellery made with Mizuhiki, Japanese traditional paper strings, Mulberry silk pillowcases, silk eye masks and a range of gift sets put together with small Irish businesses. There will be books by Irish authors, photography and prints from local artists and even some witchy products including full moon aura sprays, crystals and spell kits.

Iseult Dunne, CEO of Dublin City Council Culture Company, commented, “Richmond Barracks is a  centre for cultural and creative activity for the communities local to Inchicore. The St Brigid’s Day Fair is an ideal reason to visit this fantastic building and garden, take part in some drop in workshops, buy something for the home or a gift, and learn about all the things you can do at Richmond Barracks when you return to see us again. We’re delighted to celebrate women in business and to welcome social enterprises, small businesses and traders from the local areas around Dublin 8, 10, 12 and 24 and in some cases introduce them to new customers or participants. There will be a warm welcome for everyone.”

Food and drink options will be supplied by social and sustainable enterprises Mugshot Cafe and Revolution Farm and Kitchen, as well as Pinchos Dublin, Good Vibrations Coffee, and the Crepe Escape. Garden entertainment on both days will include an exciting dance troupe called the Queens Project and Inchicore’s St. James’s Brass and Reed Band, considered Ireland’s oldest band.

February’s St Brigid’s Day Fair at Richmond Barracks highlights food, design and crafting and is the fourth in a series of fairs during 2022/23 by Dublin City Council Culture Company.  These quarterly fairs showcase the quality and creativity of the small businesses, craftspeople, makers and social enterprises abundant in the local area, as well as promoting culture, creativity and conversation.
