Richmond Barracks is located off Bulfin Road, corner of Emmet Road (R810), behind St. Michael’s Church. It faces St. Michael’s Estate green space, which is currently a building site.

By bus

You can reach Richmond Barracks by taking any of these buses: 13, 68, G1, G2.

Coming from the City Centre, get off at St. Michael's Church, Emmet Road, Inchicore. The stop number is 1946. Walk up Emmet Road towards Inchicore Village and follow the first path to your left to the side of St. Michael's Church. Richmond Barracks will become visible on your left. 

Coming from the opposite direction, get off at Inchicore United Workman's Club, Emmet Road, Inchicore. The stop number is 1989. Cross the road at the lights and walk down Emmet Road away from Inchicore Village.  Cross the road again at St Vincent St West, then take the next path to your right before St Michael's Church. Richmond Barracks will become visible on your left. 

Bus stops for route 122 are also within walking distance.

By Luas

You can reach Richmond Barracks by taking the Luas red line. Get off at the Goldenbridge stop and cross over to the other side of the canal. With the canal on your left-hand side, walk straight down Millview Cottages and onto St Helen's Terrace. On your right-hand side, you'll come to a kissing gate. Walk through this gate and head straight towards the green. Richmond Barracks will come into view on your right. The whole walk shouldn't take more than 10 minutes at a leisurely pace.

By bicycle

There is a bicycle stand located just outside our front doors where you can lock your bike.

Dublinbikes

There is a Dublinbike station on Emmet Road at the crossroads with Kilmainham. Richmond Barracks is a five-minute walk from here. Continue south from the stand and St. Michael’s Church will come into view on the left. Turn left onto Bulfin Road which is immediately before the church, and the Barracks will come into view. 

 

By train / Luas

Richmond Barracks is a 25-minute walk from Heuston Station, which is served by the red Luas line.

You can also take the red Luas line from Connolly Station.

The Luas Park and Ride facility at the Red Cow is four stops away.

Parking:

Due to ongoing construction work, there is currently very limited free parking on the street outside the building. 

Park Rite Kilmainham is approximately a 30-minute walk away and is open Monday to Sunday 8 am - 7 pm. See the route on Google Maps here.



By car:

Richmond Barracks is a 10-minute drive from the city centre. Drive to Emmet Road (R810), and continue south towards Inchicore Village. Turn left off Emmet Road onto Bulfin Rd at the side of St. Michael’s Church. Turn immediately right, and follow the road around to Richmond Barracks which will be on your left.


On foot:

If walking, Richmond Barracks is approximately 40 minutes from Dublin city centre.
