Many of our upcoming workshops will open for bookings one month in advance. To make them easier for you to book, we have listed below the dates when booking opens.

- Exploring Nature Through Art
Join artist and illustrator Enagh Farrell to learn how to draw some of the native Irish plants growing in the local area.
Takes place on Saturday 1 November at 11 am
- Talks at The Mess: Dublin and the First World War
Talks at the Mess is a series of monthly talks at Richmond Barracks that highlights local history, stories, and passions.
Takes place on Wednesday 5 November at 6 pm

- Introduction to Bookbinding
Learn different techniques for creating your own notebooks, journals or sketchbooks.
Takes place on Fridays 7 November to 28 November at 11 am

- Chime in and Play: Music and Movement
Chime in and Play is a weekly music and movement workshop for children aged 18 months to 5 years and their grown ups.
Takes place on Fridays 14 November to 12 December at 3 pm
- Introduction to Writing Poetry
Join poet Trudie Gorman to explore different styles of poetry and try writing your own.
Takes place on Wednesdays 12 November to 10 December at 6 pm
Bookings that will open on Wednesday 15 October at 10 am:
- Children's History Workshop: 1916 at the Barracks
Learn about the 1916 Easter Rising and some of the 3,000 men and women who were taken to Richmond Barracks at that time, create your own flag and make a new Proclamation of Ireland. This workshop is suitable for children aged 9 to 12.
Takes place on Saturday 15 November at 11 am
- Saturday Craft Social
Facilitated by visual artist Niki Collier, this informal craft session is aimed at those who want to get together, make things and enjoy being creative.
Takes place on Saturdays 18 October and 15 November at 10 am

- Creative Dance Adventures
Join Artist in Residence Mia DiChiaro to dance together and try out creating choreography inspired by artwork, poetry and music.
Takes place on Tuesdays 18 November to 9 December at 6 pm
Bookings that will open on Tuesday 21 October at 10 am:
- Introduction to Making (November)
Learn electronics and technology skills. Join facilitator Aidan Fitzmaurice to learn simple skills like soldering and creating electronic circuits to complete easy projects. This is a repeat of the Introduction to Making workshops in October. To enable as many people as possible to take part, please only book into one set of workshops.
Takes place on Fridays 21 November to 5 December at 2 pm
Bookings that will open on Tuesday 28 October at 10 am:
- Ceramics for Young Artists
Try your hand at ceramics and learn some of the basic techniques of this art form. Join artist and designer Liz Walsh for an introduction to ceramics. You can book to come to one workshop or as many as you like. This workshop is suitable for young people aged 13 to 16.
Takes place on Wednesdays 26 November to 10 December at 6 pm
- Online Book Club: 'Air' by John Boyne
The Culture Connects online book club meets via Zoom on the last Thursday of the month. We talk about the month's book, swap book recommendations and have a chat.
Culture Connects is our year-round programme that invites people in Dublin to try out new things. We offer ways for people to make and create together, to share ideas and connect through culture and conversation.
