What would you do if you were president? Learn about what the President of Ireland does and lots more in our children's history workshops.
As part of our year-round Culture Connects at Richmond Barracks, we run a programme of free, interactive children's history workshops. Below are some of the ones you can get involved in.

If You Were President (ages 9 to 12)
Saturday 24th January, 11 am to 12 pm
What does the President of Ireland do, and how is their job different to other presidents around the world? Join Children's History Facilitator Lorcan McEvoy to explore these questions and think about what you would do if you were the President of Ireland.
Brigid's Crosses (ages 9 to 12)
Saturday 31 January, 11 am to 12 pm
Join Children's History Facilitator Lorcan McEvoy to learn more about the history and traditions of St Brigid's Day, and make your own Brigid's cross.

Fashion! Create your own Designs (ages 9 to 12)
Thursday 19 February, 11 am to 12 pm
Join Children's History Facilitator Lorcan McEvoy to explore the history of fashion. Find out about the origins of some of your favourite clothes and create your own designs!
Boycotts and Protests (ages 12 to 15)
Thursday 19 February, 2 pm to 3 pm
Explore boycotts and protests from history. Join Children's History Facilitator Lorcan McEvoy to discover the Irish origins of the word 'boycott' and create your own protest art or slogans for the issues that matter to you.
Ireland During World War II (ages 9 to 12)
Saturday 28 February, 11 am to 12 pm
Learn about what life was like for people in Ireland during World War II. Join Children's History Facilitator Lorcan McEvoy to find out why Ireland was neutral and what did that mean. Explore historical ration books and compare them to how we live today.
