Our programme for February and March has been announced

Our Culture Connects programme for February and March is now live!


We are delighted to have our programme of tours, workshops, classes and talks available for people to enjoy. Most events are free, though pre-booking, either online or in-person at our reception desk is advised.

Among the many highlights of our programme this month are:


DANCE:

 

Dance delights 

This series of six dance workshops is led by Philippa Donnellan and Mia DiChiaro.


CRAFT:

Craft and chat

A weekly get together for people who want to try out different crafts in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Led by award-winning artist Niki Collier. Each week you can try out a different type of craft.

 

Exploring printmaking

Learn different printmaking techniques including drypoint, monoprint, collograph and chine collé printing with artist and printmaker Clare Henderson.

 

STORIES

 

Scéalta faoi thalamh agus uisce/Stories of the land and water 

Join us for an hour of stories of nature, land and water. Told in Irish and in English by renowned storytellers Órla McGovern and Máirín Mhic Lochlainn. Special event to celebrate Seachtain na Gailge, suitable for adults and children of all ages. Join us for a cup of tea and a chat afterwards.


HISTORY

 

People, places and times past: An introduction to researching local history

Admission Free

Have you ever wanted to find out more about the history of your local area? In this six week workshop led by historian Dr. Declan Brady you will learn how to do your own local history research. Each week will cover different ways of finding information about the people and places of your neighbourhood in times past. You can book to come to one or book to come to them all.


GARDENING

 

Eco gardening workshops

At this hands-on series of workshops you will learn how to garden whilst being environmentally aware. You will also find out how to get the most out of your garden in a sustainable way. Led by eco gardener in residence, Polly Rowley-Sams, participants will learn about different planting techniques and explore ways to be more ecologically responsible too. All gardeners and green fingered levels of experience are welcome.
