Join us in the heart of Inchicore at Richmond Barracks for our Easter Fair on Saturday 4 April from 11 am to 5 pm. 

The Easter Fair at Richmond Barracks will celebrate the Spring season - a time of new beginnings, growth and the importance of renewal. 

There will be free creative and cultural workshops for all ages, and seasonal crafts and products from designers and makers will be available to buy, along with a variety of food and drink to enjoy on the day or take away for the bank holiday weekend.

Admission to the Fair is free. The building is accessible, with safe parking for bikes and for buggies. We open at 11 am each day. Find directions here.

Creative Workshops

Try out our free creative workshops for all ages. Each workshop is led by an experienced artist from the Culture Connects programme, which runs year-round at Richmond Barracks.

To take part in these workshops you must book a place on the day. You can do this at the reception desk 30 minutes before the workshop takes place. Places may be limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Easter bunny crafting

Children's History Workshop: Easter Eggs (all ages)
11.30 am; duration 1 hour

Join children's history facilitator Claire Hennessy to learn about Easter traditions from Ireland and other countries. Find out how the tradition of chocolate eggs came about, and design and decorate your own paper Easter Eggs.

Spring Yarn Art (all ages)
11.45 am or 12.45 pm; duration 45 minutes

Join Artist in Residence Paula Garcia Ibanez to create spring-themed pictures using coloured yarn.


 

Adult and child crafting

Make Rosettes, Eggs and Bunny Ears from Upcycled Fabric (all ages)
1.15 pm or 2.15 pm; duration 45 minutes

Join Kim from Change Clothes to make all sorts of Easter treasures from upcycled fabric scraps. Try out making a rosette, a patched Easter Egg, a bunny finger-puppet or bunny ears!

Make a Felted Easter Basket (all ages)
2.15 pm or 3.30 pm; duration 1 hour

Join Artist in Residence Niki Collier to learn felt-making techniques by creating your own felted Easter basket.


 

Richmond Barracks workshops for all ages

Join artist Liz Walsh to make bunny bunting from upcycled materials.

Good Morning Garden (ages 2 to 6 years)

Start your visit to the Easter Fair by saying good morning to the Richmond Barracks garden!

Join Artist in Residence Shane McGrath for an imaginative stroll around the garden that includes music, stories and songs - perfect for mini musicians and nature enthusiasts!

This workshop is best suited for children ages 2 to 6 but all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a drop-in event at the Richmond Barracks Easter Fair and will take place in the garden. No booking required.

This workshop was originally developed as part of Creative Hubs delivered by The Ark.

Easter Rocks! (all ages)
Drop in between 12 pm and 4 pm

Design and paint your very own Easter Egg rock. You can bring it home or hide it in the Richmond Barracks garden for someone else to find!

This activity is suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Dance Day at Richmond Barracks 21 Feb

Family Dance Party (all ages)
12.30 pm or 1.45 pm; duration 30 minutes

Discover all kinds of dance moves from Rock ‘n’ Roll, to Hip Hop, K-Pop and more!

Join Dance Artist in Residence Mia DiChiaro for a family friendly dance party. Create your own special moves and leap, swing, twist and dance in wild and wonderful ways! Grown-ups will be encouraged to take part too!

This workshop is suitable for children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a drop-in event at the Richmond Barracks Easter Fair and will take place in the garden. No booking required.

Micro Tour of the Garden (all ages)
1 pm; duration 45 minutes

Join Eco-Gardener Polly Rowley-Sams for a tour of the Richmond Barracks garden on a microscopic level.

Using magnifying lenses you will be exploring nature in the garden up close - prepare to discover some unexpected wonders!

This workshop is suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sing for Fun Choir Performance (all ages)
2.45 pm; duration 45 minutes

Join participants of our weekly 'Sing for Fun' singing workshop for a performance of songs.

Our Sing for Fun workshops are for anyone interested in singing as part of a group. You can join Artist in Residence Michael McCartan and learn to sing different songs and try out vocal warm-ups and exercises. No singing experience is needed, just a willingness to take part.

Sing for Fun workshops take place in Richmond Barracks on Wednesdays at 1 pm and Thursdays at 11 am
