Richmond Barracks

Dublin Festival of History 2024 events at Richmond Barracks

We are delighted to host 20 events for this year’s Dublin Festival of History.

Now in its 12th year, this year’s festival is the largest yet, with over 340 free events taking place across Dublin city and county from September 27 to October 13.

Events at Richmond Barracks include a Balkan Folk Dance workshop, talks on The Aran Sweater, Black and Irish trailblazers, and tales of Ireland’s LGBTQ+ past. Justine Murphy will also discuss the history and development of Richmond Barracks, to complement our new beautifully illustrated timeline.

Younger historians can join Historian in Residence for Children, Dervilia Roche, for free, interactive children’s history workshops, including the Big History Quiz, Barracks Escape Room, and Spooky Stories. View events for children here.

You can read about the events in Richmond Barracks below. You'll find full details of each event on their ticket page.

Please check the Dublin Festival of History website regularly to check if additions have been made to the programme.
